Wilco brings extensive experience in golf course construction and renovation, having collaborated with leading designers on projects such as Mickelson National Golf Club, Bearspaw Country Club, Springbank Links, Maple Ridge Golf Course, and many more. In 2025, our crews completed a major renovation at Shaganappi while keeping the course fully open for play – an effort that required careful planning and low-impact construction methods. Wilco built 29 new bunkers and renovated an additional 20, updating infrastructure while elevating playability, strategy, and modern design aesthetics. Using compact, low-impact equipment, our teams transported fill and bunker sand across fairways without damaging turf, allowing each hole to reopen immediately upon completion. Work included removing old sand, reshaping bunker forms and placement, installing new subdrainage systems, and sodding over former bunker locations to refine hole strategy. The revitalized bunkers introduce fresh challenges and enhanced shotmaking requirements, improve the overall playing experience for all skill levels, and reduce longterm maintenance demands for grounds staff.
