This project involved the construction of a connected series of new parks within an existing drainage channel, along with a separate scope covering approximately 5.75 hectares of site development. Work included bulk grading, placement of topsoil and compost, concrete flatwork, asphalt pathways, pathway electrical, site furnishings, four bridge structures with piling and abutments, irrigation systems, planting, irrigated and naturalized seeding, and full landscape establishment maintenance.
Wilco provided value-added services by reassessing and redesigning the park grading in a key portion of the site. The revised grading strategy improved drainage performance and ensured the final built condition met both City of Saskatoon Parks and City of Saskatoon Water technical and regulatory requirements. This proactive approach helped align the design intent with constructability and municipal standards, reducing risk and improving overall project outcomes.
