This new artificial soccer field was built to replace the aging natural grass facility at the Mount Royal University (MRU) campus, providing an upgraded stadium environment for Cougars Athletics. Wilco stripped and graded the existing field, installed storm drainage and granular base layers, and constructed new perimeter curbs and concrete flatwork seamlessly tying into the existing bleacher system. Work began late in 2025 and progressed efficiently, allowing installation of the artificial turf surface and fencing in time for MRU to host its final soccer matches of the season in October. Through careful planning and strong collaboration with MRU and NAK, the revitalized stadium now delivers superior play quality, enhanced durability, and increased availability during marginal weather conditions. The finished facility offers a polished, professional look that elevates both training and game-day experiences. This project further expands Wilco’s growing portfolio of artificial turf installations across the Calgary region, supporting the city’s increasing demand for high-performance recreational and competitive sports infrastructure.
