Wilco completed the new football and multi-sport facility at Horseshoe Crossing High School in Langdon in spring 2025 – the first artificial turf field in the area. The project transformed a simple topsoil field into a high-performance athletic surface through efficient stripping, grading, and sub-base construction. The field features a herringbone-pattern drainage tile system paired with a drain-rock aggregate base, ensuring excellent field performance in all weather conditions. Wilco’s expertise in sequencing, planning, and precision execution played a major role in accelerating the schedule. Using laser- and GPS-guided equipment, our crews graded the top course gravels to within ±3 mm before turf installation, delivering exceptional accuracy and consistency. This facility now provides the local football and multi-sport community with a much-needed venue for games, practices, and skill development – supporting young athletes across Langdon and surrounding areas. In the past year, Wilco completed six artificial turf fields across Calgary, including Rennert School, two fields at Rocky Ridge, Villains Soccer, and MRU, significantly expanding field capacity for local sports organizations.
