Alpine Park features a stormwater facility that seamlessly blends engineering precision with the natural beauty of a community park. Stormwater collected from streets and hard surfaces is processed through a submersible pump and sand kidney filter system, improving water quality before it is released into nearby natural areas and river systems. This project showcases Wilco’s broad capabilities – from constructing major storm vaults and ducting to building timber boardwalks, rock walls, bioengineered banks, and fully landscaped park spaces. The storm park and adjacent manicured greenspace include 775 newly planted caliper trees, including spruce, pine, larch, ash, aspen, and elm, which were established this year to anchor the landscape as it matures. The site is expansive, with a pathway network winding around the pond and through the wetlands, offering sweeping views of the downtown skyline. With its mountain-inspired, outdoorliving aesthetic, Alpine Park is designed to draw residents outside and encourage an active lifestyle. The thoughtfully crafted greenspaces will serve as a defining feature of the community for years to come.
