The future Green Line LRT works require extensive preparatory construction to make way for new train lines. This early-works project constructs a pedestrian tunnel at 72nd Ave in Ogden, and a vehicle underpass at 78th Street. Wilco completed all demolition and removals, including asphalt road removals, site stripping and grading, importing 80,000 m3 of granular embankment fill material placed adjacent to the CPKC rail line. The embankments were constructed to allow the CPKC line to be temporarily shifted over and back as tunnel construction continues. Scope required concrete secant walls and precast retaining walls to be built to retain the embankment during construction. The newly upgraded streets and roundabouts are finished with pine, spruce and aspen trees and pathway connections. Our ability to complete complex civil works while maintaining an eye for landscape detail and quality control make us an ideal contractor for these types of mixed-scope projects.
