Wilco has built two storm facilities here using the Nautilus system. Both sites include artistic fountain features, pumping the stormwater from the deep pond, through the fountains into the sand filter treatment wetland, and cycling back through the streams. Tens of thousands of aquatic plants do the heavy work of burning off excess nutrients and clarifying the water. Wilco excels and completing multiple tasks simultaneously and having crews work around each other on civil or landscape scopes all at the same time. The Nautilus system causes the majority of sediment from city streets to be deposited and dropped in the first circular pond, which is easily cleaned out with a hydrovac whenever build up is significant. This is a quick and easy chore compared to the old method of dewatering a pond and dredging it out with excavators and rig mats. These sites are also a haven for wildlife and birds, with hundreds of trees and a thick carpet of cattails and sedges.
