This project involved full construction of an urban park from an existing greenspace. Wilco demolished and removed existing concrete retaining walls, stripped topsoil, and regraded the site. The sand beach was constructed first by a series of retaining walls and steps, and lined with an impermeable liner. The beach has a perforated drainage system along with a sump that dewaters the sand when water levels are high. Wilco constructed all concrete works including retaining walls, decorative features, curb and gutter, walkways and paving stone plaza areas. The project also included construction of the parking lot, new washroom change room facility, site electrical and lighting, and landscaping and irrigation.
